The partners at Riffle Stone began investing together in 1995. Early investments were concentrated in middle-market private equity and the ownership of lease-stabilized apartment buildings. In later years, the portfolio was expanded and diversified to include direct investments in financial technology companies. Today, Riffle Stone manages a diversified portfolio of private capital.

Mike Rushmore
Mike began his career as an industrial engineer working on the oil fields and refining centers of Montana. He transitioned to finance in 1985, joining a large commercial bank, holding various credit analysis, sales and research positions over 15 years. In 2000, Mike founded and built LoanX as the first credit pricing consortium of commercial and investment banks. Mike served as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of LoanX until its merger with Markit. At Markit, Mike served on the Executive Management Team as the Global Head of Sales and Marketing as the business grew from under 100 employees to over 3,000 employees, and a public market valuation exceeding $4 billion. Mike is the Founder and current Chairman Emeritus at the Eagle Valley Community Foundation, an organization that addresses food insecurity in Eagle County, Colorado.

Sue Rushmore
Sue began her investment career in 1981at a large commercial bank sourcing and underwriting senior debt financing for a diversified portfolio of energy companies. She later transitioned to take responsibility for the structuring of highly-leveraged financial transactions bank-wide, as well as strategic technology development for the institution. Sue was recruited by private equity firm CIVC Partners to be a partner responsible for origination and management of a portfolio of private equity investments, working on complex equity investments nearly 10 years. Sue currently serves on the Board of Directors for Curran Group, owner of a portfolio of four operating businesses headquartered outside of Chicago, Illinois, as well as a Director for Guardian Scholars, a scholarship organization serving Eagle County, Colorado.

Prior to Riffle Stone, RJ’s career focused on the relationship between technology and culture, experimenting with how new technologies influence how content is produced, distributed, purchased, and experienced. As a serial founder, he built brands that shook up culture. He is a CAIA charterholder and earned an MBA at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
